Great Books by Super Authors

I will often decide to read a new book based on someone’s recommendation. If you’re the same, read this post.

Because of my writing experience, I’ve become friends with a group of remarkable authors. You might not be familiar with their books, but be prepared for great reading in a variety of genres, both in fiction and non-fiction.

I highly recommend these authors and their books because of the flair they have for telling a story, or in the case of non-fiction, explaining a place and activity.

Here are my top picks.

Robert Sigsby is the author of three books including his latest, Lefty’s Tavernacle, a story about a bar/church in a rough Oregon fishing village. His stories are flavored by his love of the sea and his time on the Pacific Northwest Coast and the islands of Micronesia. Find all his books on Amazon on his author page or his website.

Marjorie Turner Hollman, a personal historian and author, has written a series of books about Easy Walks in Massachusetts. Learn about dog-friendly, grandparent-friendly, children-friendly, or (as the titles indicate) easy trails to walk and enjoy nature in this state. Discover more on her Amazon author page or her website.

Richard Rook has written Tiernan’s Wake, a story about a burnt-out Boston lawyer and the secrets of 16th-century Irish pirate Grace O’Malley. This story will appeal to everyone interested in genealogy and Irish lore. Visit his author page on Amazon or his website to find out more.

Amy Bartelloni is the author of young adult, dystopian novel Gen One. After robots have conquered Earth, the people remaining struggle to survive. She has also written the Andromeda series of books. Find out more about Amy at her Amazon author page or her website.

Craig Moodie is a prolific author with over eight novels. His love of sailing comes through in each of his stories. He has also published under pen name John Macfarlane. His latest book is Stormstruck!. I also read Our Perfect Youth many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Find his books on his Amazon author page or his website.

Mike Ryan has written eight novels, his latest of which is George Washington Ate Here, a young adult, coming of age fantasy. The setting for his stories is typically the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Other titles include Ten Minutes to Park Street and No Fun in the Fens. See all his work on his Amazon author page or his list of books on Goodreads.

Happy reading!
